Post by Juan Pablo UgartePost by Johannes SchmidHi Pablo!
IMHO I would reduce the number of options as I assume you won't get
millions of answers and thus some numbers might be insignificant
otherwise, especially for kind of application and license.
You are right, but in that case the answers can be merged together in
the results
Post by Johannes SchmidFor license I would especially merge free and open source software to
FOSS software (hoping the Richard is not reading this list...).
Well, since glade is free software I think its important to make the
distinction
Post by Johannes SchmidAnd I don't see the need to request more information than E-mail.
Privacy means especially to not gather data at all if possible.
Good point, this is why only name and email are required.
So people that think in which country/city they live is personal they
can choose not to fill that fields.
Anyways I pay special attention to make sure I did not asked personal
questions and only request for relevant data.
Right, FWIW the specifically identifying data that I'm particularly
interested in is only the user's name, email address, and the company
for which they work in the context of using Glade, if applicable.
The reason for this, is that since this is really a 99% volunteer
driven project, I believe that having an idea of what people, and
what companies are using Glade, is the least we can ask for in all
fairness.
It might be worth specifying exactly what our intentions are with
that data, as currently I'm mostly interested in just having an
idea of the size and type of user base we have, inside and outside
of FOSS communities. I have no intention of listing these companies
as users of Glade on our home page for publicity, for example.
Cheers,
-Tristan
